OSHAcademy, a trusted provider of free OSHA resources, has put together this Personal Protective Equipment course. This course aims to inform workers about the correct use of PPE and how it protects them from workplace hazards. 

One of the chapters of this course is dedicated to raising awareness of the right care and use of electrical protective equipment. It discusses the responsibilities of employers to require workers to wear electrical PPE, ways to inspect PPE to make sure that it performs as needed, signs of an electrical defect, and more. 

Apart from the electrical PPE, this course also goes over the different types of PPE, the basics of conducting a hazard assessment, and a guide on selecting the right PPE for different uses. This electrical PPE free online training course has seven chapters, although just a quick heads up that they're presented in a static format without any interactive elements.

5. Health and Safety 104 - Personal Protective Equipment

Your workers will also learn a lot about the correct use of PPE and its importance in high-risk workplaces with this electrical PPE free online training course by Alison. This training is divided into three modules, with the first one focusing on the potential hazards present in the workplace and the required use of PPE to lessen those risks. 

The second half of the course explores the different classifications of PPE and where your workforce will find the right protective equipment for electrical works. Part of this lesson will also discuss the right PPE needed to avoid hearing loss. 

At the end of this course, your workers will find a course assessment that will test their learning progress. They will need to achieve at least 80% in this course assessment to complete this course. There's an option to acquire an official certification, although it comes with a small cost.

This HSI electrical PPE online training course is designed to help companies maintain compliance with the electrical safety guidelines set by National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) and OSHA. This course covers a lot of useful topics, such as the hazards, injuries, and consequences associated with arc flash and electric shock events. Your workers will learn more about arc flash, insulating and shielding materials, as well as the use of insulated tools and test equipment. They will also get to know how to choose and properly use the right PPE for the job.

While this course isn’t free, you can try HSI’s free trial to access this course without spending a penny. But since it’s a free trial, you can only access it for a short period unless you upgrade to their paid plans.
